A new research attempts to link weight loss and risk for breast cancer in women above 50 and found that sustained weight loss is associated with reducing the risk of breast cancer. The reduction in risk was found to be directly proportional to the amount of weight loss and was specific to women not under postmenopausal hormones. The research is published in JNCI. The lead author of the study is Lauren Teras, Ph.D.
