South Korea needs a smaller Assembly, says the head of the ruling party.

The leader of the ruling People Power Party said Thursday that South Korea might need a smaller National Assembly.

Rep. Kim Gi-hyeon said Thursday at a meeting of the party leadership that the present 300 seats in the 75-year-old parliament "shouldn't be considered absolute."
