On Monday, Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre announced that on December 1, President Joe Biden will welcome French President Emmanuel Macron to the White House for the first official state visit of his administration.

The visit will "underline the profound and enduring friendship between the United States and France, our longest ally," Jean-Pierre told reporters at the White House.
