KUMAMOTO GOVT. TO APPROVE CONSTRUCTION OF DAM CANCELED EARLIER BY THEN-DPJ

• Kumamoto Govt. to approve the construction of dam canceled earlier by then-DPJ.
• The cancellation was due to heavy rain which flooded a major river in the prefectural area.
• The prefecture Gov. will make the final decision after discussion with experts and prefectural assembly members.
• The Gov. is considering the construction of a primarily “dry dam.
