JAPAN PLEDGES $234 MILLION FOR CORONAVIRUS VACCINE

Highlights

• EU managed to raise $8 billion on the first day of the pledging event

• More than 30 countries pledged to donate towards the development of COVID-19 vaccine

• Japan has extended it’s state of emergency till May 31

While the European Union raised $8 billion for COVID-19 vaccine, out of it $234 million are pledged by the Japanese government towards this noble initiative.
