Fears that the first wave of visa-free foreign visitors in more than two years could spread illnesses at home have been raised in response to Japan's decision to relax its border controls on COVID-19.

While Prime Minister Fumio Kishida's administration has promised to loosen coronavirus regulations, its policy decision to eliminate the daily arrivals cap is likely to lead Japanese civilians to increasingly rely on face masks ....
