Wastewater Analysis Shows Increased Contamination of Designer Drugs

Chemical analysis of water flowing in the sewage of ten different countries has shown that new psychoactive substances are spreading across the world.

This year one of the designer drugs, the mephedrone analog 3-methyl methcathinone, was detected in New Zealand for the first time. Previously, the drug was only found in Europe and North America.
