In a deal worth around $2.3 billion, Sweden's Volvo AB will sell its UD Truck business in Japan to Isuzu Motors to exit a low-margin market, improving its cash pile as the high-tech truck heats up.
The contract, which the companies announced on Wednesday, forms part of a broader partnership, which will share advanced electric and self-conducting vehicle technologies and use their combined volume to minimize development costs.
