Water levels in a very fresh Scottish loch cryptically reached a 750-year low earlier this year, according to archaeologists learning the remains of an ancient settlement on an unreal island.
Researchers at Loch Vaa within the Cairngorms collected and carbon-dated timbers that had been lined by water since the 13th Century, to reveal that water levels reached a historic low in could 2019.
