The Kalina campus of Mumbai University will serve as a parking lot on Dussehra, and NSUI has petitioned the governor to step in.

The NSUI chapter in Maharashtra protested the choice in a letter to Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari. The BMC decision was made in response to a Dussehra gathering that the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena group planned to hold on October 5 at the MMRDA grounds.
