We can only guess at the sort of day that one iguana-like lizard had in what is now Myanmar 100 million years ago. All we need to get on with is its tiny back leg and some slime mould it shook loose, maybe in an effort to escape tree sap death.

In previous studies, the fossilized remnants of the tragic event were analyzed in detail. Attention has now changed from the foot of the lizard into the few slimy filaments, rendering the ambe....
