Thailand Governor Declares the State of Emergency Over Oil Spill on Beach

On Saturday, the governor of Mae Ramphueng Beach in Rayong province in Eastern Thailand declared a state of emergency as an oil slick from a leak reached the shore. The government has shut the restaurants and shops in the area causing another setback to the pandemic-struck tourism industry.
