Teen’s exposure to anxiety medication is on the rise

A new study reveals that over the past decade, the number of teens taking and overdosing from benzodiazepines has risen dramatically. Benzodiazepines are commonly prescribed anxiety medication.

The research is published in Clinical Toxicology. One of the authors of the study is Diane Calello, Executive and Medical Director, New Jersey Poison Control Center, Department of Emergency Medicine, Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.
