SSAB Americas intends production of the first fossil free steel in North America

SSAB Americas, steel manufacturer, made public that they want to produce steel resorting to a fossil-free process starting in 2026. Achieving this will make SSAB the first supplier in North America to produce fossil-free steel. Montpelier, Iowa hosts the mill that is set to be powered by renewable energy by 2022.
