The Supreme Court of India on Monday has fined lawyer-activist Prashant Bhushan Re 1 on being held guilty of contempt for his tweets against the top court and the Chief Justice of India SA Bobde. The court clearly said that if he doesn’t pay the fine by September 15, Bhushan can either face three-months jail or a practice ban for three years.
The apex court while announcing the sentence said freedom of speech cannot be curtailed. ....
