Royal Australian Air Force completes training mission

In December 2019, the Royal Australian Air Force began returning its pilots, maintainers, and aircraft from the Luke Air Force Base to Australia after all training milestones.

The RAAF started training at Luke AFB in December 2014 with two F-35s with the 61st Fighter Squadron and Aircraft Maintenance Group. 34 pilots from Australia and 16 pilots have since been certified, and RAAF owns 20 F-35s by January 2020.
