RETAIL SALES OBSERVE A RISE OF 1.2%

• Electronics and appliance sales observed a jump of 22.9%
• Clothing observed an increase of 5.7%

Reports suggest that retail sales for the month rose by 1.2%. The economists surveyed by Dow Jones had expected an increase of 2.3%. The gain was 1.9%, excluding autos. It was ahead of the 1.2% estimate.
