On Sunday, the major opposition Pheu Thai Party defended its proposed modification to the Political Parties Act, which has been widely interpreted as a ploy to allow former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra to wield control over the party.
Cholnan Srikaew, the party's leader, stated that the proposed modifications to Sections 28 and 29 are legal and will eliminate any ambiguity in the Act.
