New research links motor neuron disease to cholesterol

For Motor Neuron Disease (MND), a neurological disorder, scientists claim that they have discovered its possible underlying cause. The research suggests that MND has been found to be linked with an imbalance of cholesterol and other fats in cells.

In the UK, MND affects around 5,000 people causes more than 2,000 deaths a year. Research could prove helpful for more accurate diagnosis and new treatments.
