Cancer is on the rise. Amongst many types, cancer that occur in the upper throat and the back of the mouth is difficult to diagnose. Until they become advanced, they are often not diagnosed. This can be attributed partly to their location. During routine clinical exams, it is difficult to see them because of their location. The pathogenic strain associated with Oro Pharyngeal Cancers (OPCs) is human papilloma virus (HPV)-16.
