A study shows that mothers-to-be exposed to toxic chemicals that have been banned for decades have smaller babies. Following efforts to eliminate any signs of active chemicals, POPs remain today in the food chain, mostly in dairy, fruit, and fish.

Scientists found that women in infancy who were exposed to high levels of POPs had smaller fetuses. Babies had heads smaller than 6.4 mm. National Institutes of Health researchers said that....
