With a skill deficit plaguing manufacturing in a traditionally tight labor market, companies are spending large amounts of money to "upskill" their current workforce and secure a talent pipeline.
According to the Manufacturing Institute, by 2020, manufacturers are set to spend $26.2 billion on internal and external training initiatives for new and existing employees to combat the shortage of available workers.
