Lack of cooperation from crop insurance companies lead to distress among farms

The first insurance brush of Santosh Kumar left a bitter background. A farmer's brother, 26-year-old Kumar, from Bihar's Araria district, had been betrayed by the rejection of their cause from hundreds of farmers in his village, including his uncle. In August 2017, an overflowing Kosi River flooded the village of Kumar in Palasi Block of Araria. Most washed away from the paddy crop.
