Irish data centers a bane for climate sustainability efforts

Ireland is considered to be the worst European performer in terms of carbon dioxide emissions. The country regularly has to pay fines for missing clean energy targets. The fine for not achieving 2020 clean energy is presently estimated at EUR 250 million. The fine amount will increase if the later targets are also missed.
