A study undertaken by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) suggests that many species of fish are being threatened by low oxygen levels in oceans driven by climate change and nutrient pollution.
In the 1960s, 45 ocean sites were suffering from low oxygen levels while now this number has increased to 700. The species most affected are – sharks, marlin, and tune.
