Demonstrations against EGAT buying energy from the Luang Prabang Dam

Concerned about the upcoming signing of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) between the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and a group of private dam builders for the purchase of electricity from the Luang Prabang dam in the Lao PDR, a network of civil society organisations from eight provinces in Thailand through which the Mekong River flows have submitted a petition to Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha.
