CHINA’S CONSUMER INFLATION GREW STEADILY IN MAY

• China’s consumer inflation grew steadily in May.
• The consumer price index (CPI) rose 1.3 percent year on year in May.
• The average CPI in the first five months of the year went up 0.4 percent.
• Food prices climbed 0.3 percent, and non-food prices went up 1.6 percent year on year in May.
