At Aberthaw station on the coast of South Wales, Tom Glover examines a dwindling pile of coal, for what could also be the last time. At its peak in 2013, the coal-fired power station generates enough electricity to keep the lights on in 3m homes each year.
But these days when nearly half a century operative all is quiet. The furnaces don't seem to be running, there are not any plumes from the chimney, and there's no soot rest....
