Extremely premature babies conceived in English medical clinics with expert neonatal escalated care units may have a diminished risk of brain damage and death, compared with premature infants born in emergency clinics without such specialist units.
This is the finding of a research group from Imperial College London and the University of Turku, Finland, that included 17,000 infants born in England sooner than 28 weeks gestation.
