The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of the United States has recommended, for the first time in a decade, stricter limits on fine soot in the air, which is linked to numerous health problems. Changes to PM 2.5 standards would lower the current limit from 12 micrograms per cubic meter to a range between 9 to 10 micrograms per cubic meter.
