On Tuesday, the Nobel Prize in physics was awarded to three scientists who observe electrons in atoms for the briefest fractions of a second.
The award was presented to Pierre Agostini of Ohio State University in the United States, Ferenc Krausz of the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics and Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich in Germany, and Anne L'Huillier of Lund University in Sweden.
