IT firms cost now $1 billion a year to the Commonwealth

The federal government's IT contractor costs possibly reached $1 billion the year before, with new information showing that since 2014-15, some departments have more than doubled their external infrastructure budgets.

Around 35-or one third-of the non-corporate and business agencies of the Commonwealth have responded to questions regarding recent budget projections and their current spending on IT contractors.
