Initial Jobless Claims Hit 219k Last Week

According to Thursday's report from the Labor Department, the number of first claims for unemployment benefits jumped by 29,000 to 219,000.

That's down from the corrected figure of 191,000 the week before. Meanwhile, the 4-week moving average was up 250 from the previous period, sitting at 206,500.
