World is witnessing rapid urbanization wherein natural habitats are being converted into urban areas at a tremendous rate. Changes in land use pattern along with climate change are known to have the worst effect on biodiversity loss. Urban areas are known to release greenhouse gases and account for high rates for resource consumption and waste generation.
