GPs are facing increasing difficulties in getting child referrals accepted by NHS mental health trusts in England, unless the patients are severely mentally unwell, as determined by a Pulse investigation.
The analysis used by 29 NHS mental health trusts in England found, only a third accepts patients with ‘severe/significant’ conditions for specialist child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS).
