Catherine Gemmell calls her passion "ocean optimism"

Catherine Gemmell's passion for her job is rooted in what she terms her "ocean optimism" as an activist for the conservation of Scotland's oceans and coastlines.

In January, the Marine Conservation Society's conservation officer will address the Royal Scottish Geographical Society in Glasgow on her work to protect the marine environment from single-use plastics, waste, and climate change.
