Advancement in estimations of carbon removal by terrestrial ecosystems

Terrestrial ecosystems act as a sink for approximately 30% of CO2 which is released in the atmosphere from anthropogenic sources.

To meet the goal of the Paris Agreement on climate IPCC reports have suggested the need for new land-use options to enhance this terrestrial carbon sink.

A new study was conducted to understand the fixing of atmospheric CO2 in terrestrial ecosystems which was published in Global Change Biology.
