Scientists have resurrected numerous big viruses that had been buried for tens of thousands of years in the frozen Siberian earth (permafrost).
The virus that was resurrected was just 27,000 years old. The oldest, a Pandoravirus, was approximately 48,500 years old. This is the oldest virus ever resurrected.
