Falconry started in the Arabian Peninsula, around 4000 years ago. Falcons were caught, domesticated in a certain manner at the beginning of the winter season and used for hunting prey as they are considered to be the fastest birds in the world. Their speed of diving is up to 300 kilometers per hour. Today, the falcons are not utilized for hunting anymore as falconry has become a pure sport.
